    I added AT-205 to my 76 VW Bus camper. I''ve had it at 3 top classic car mechanics and they all say it's in great condition accept for the slight oil leak. Well, It's defiantly leaking a quarter size drip a day. So I put in the 205. 5 hundred miles later it's still leaking. Can I ADD more 205?. Will it be bad for the engine to add more ?. No one says that it's a major issue but the Bus still leaks with the 205. What should I do now?. Is another bottle going to hurt the engine. ? Reply

    • @JohnEngel
      @JohnEngel 16 часов назад

      Great question. You don’t want to add another bottle. You should do an oil change and then add a new bottle. You should never have more than one bottle at a time.

  • @llcane1
    @llcane1 9 дней назад

    I've used it for years. The key is you have to flow the directions exactly. Then you have to make sure you don't do extended oil changes. Do them every 3.5-4k instead of 5k. If it doesn't stop the leak then it's not the rear main seal and a gasket seal oil doesn't have much contact with that likely has harden. That little.bottle has saved me $1500 just to.replace a $10 part. 😂

    It's actually the best place for a battery.

    • @JohnEngel
      @JohnEngel 13 дней назад

      Why is that?

    • @sunsetrider45
      @sunsetrider45 13 дней назад

      @@JohnEngel Aside from the added complexity of replacing it, it removes the center of gravity significantly. That among a few other reasons is why you can drift with a Cayenne, but if you do the same with a 4Runner you will roll the vehicle. With every new iteration of the Cayenne Porsche moved weight around, replaced metal with alloys etc. If I remember correctly by about 400lbs between the 958 and the 955/957. Moving an almost 70lbs battery 20" lower and towards the center of the vehicle is very significant and adds to the safety of the vehicle. Then, the battery is much more protected from the elements under the seat. When I replaced mine the old one looked brand new. This is why you see lots of people report batteries in a Cayenne lasting 9 or 10 years. So the pain of replacing it really is negated by the longevity. You could argue that it makes it more environmentally friendly as a result. To summarize: Improved safety due to lower center of gravity and improved driving dynamics and more reliable and longer lasting battery for the user. I think the much higher safety is a reason alone why it is a great location.

    • @JohnEngel
      @JohnEngel 13 дней назад

      @@sunsetrider45 I have to say, this is the best worded response I have ever had. I am now leaning toward your side. My battery was a 9 year original and did look like new. I’m not drifting this car but having the lower center of gravity does mean it won’t flip as easy easy. Thank you so much for the detailed response and well articulated answer.

    These oil additives are basically a one time deal, if they dont work the first time adding mor is just a waste. Time to break down and replace whatever seal has failed.

    The areas of the hood that are white and flaky is the failed clearcoat. If you want it to look good you need to sand off the white flaky stuff and get down to the color coat (basecoat). When clearcoat fails it delaminates from the basecoat and makes that hazy, rough, flaky looking mess. Once you get past the clearcoat it will be a different color tone and dull. Then the product you used will look much better applied over the affected area.
